MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department hosted the 2010 Football Training Camp Outing on Thursday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium.
More than 350 of the department’s donors had the exclusive opportunity to watch the football team practice in preparation for the upcoming season. Attendees also had an opportunity to meet Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne as well as tour the football office “WOW Room,” where many of the football program’s trophies are held, including each of the Big Ten championship and Rose Bowl trophies.
As practice concluded, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez thanked those in attendance while also providing an update on the Athletic Performance Center facility project. Head coach Bret Bielema and assistant coaches Paul Chryst and Dave Doeren also addressed the crowd to provide an in-depth preview of the upcoming season. In addition, senior quarterback Scott Tolzien and senior linebacker Culmer St. Jean shared stories and answered a few questions from the crowd.
The success of Wisconsin Athletics and Badger student-athletes depends in great part on the collective loyalty and generosity of alumni, fans and friends. Events such as the Football Training Camp Outing provide an opportunity to thank those donors for their support of the program.
