MADISON, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department hosted the 2011 Football Training Camp Outing August 17 on a beautiful afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium.
A tremendous turnout featuring over 425 of the department's donors had the exclusive opportunity to watch the football team scrimmage as the Badgers prepare for the first game of the season against UNLV on September 1.
Attendees also had an opportunity to take photos with the 2010 Big Ten Championship Trophy along with Paul Bunyan's Ax and the Heartland Trophy.
As practice concluded, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez thanked those in attendance for their support and acknowledged the importance of contributions made to Wisconsin Athletics each year. Head Coach Bret Bielema, assistant coaches Paul Chryst and Charlie Partridge, as well as seniors Aaron Henry and Bradie Ewing also addressed the crowd to provide a preview of the upcoming season and answer questions from the audience.
The success of Wisconsin Athletics and Badger student-athletes depends in great part on the collective loyalty and generosity of alumni, fans and friends. Events such as the Football Training Camp Outing provide an opportunity to thank those donors for their support of the program.
