Madison, Wis. - The prep school year is winding down and it’s “Tour Time” at the University of Wisconsin. The athletic facilities are especially busy at this time of year with school groups from throughout the state making a beeline for Madison.

The Guest Services division of the UW Athletics Department hosts all these groups for personally guided tours of the Camp Randall and Kohl Center facilities. In May alone there were 65 tours given that entertained and informed 3,202 people. The hour tour of Camp Randall totaled 45 tours with 2,429 people and the Kohl Center hosted 20 tours with 773 people.

The FREE tours give fans and school groups an inside look at both major facilities used by the UW Athletes and staff. The Camp Randall one-hour tour concentrates on many of the renovations completed in 2005 including the visiting football locker room, the suites and club seats, and a visit to the WOW Room adjacent to the UW football coaches offices which houses memorabilia and trophies. Weather permitting, fans can also run down the tunnel used by the Badgers on game day and have photos or run on the football field.

The Kohl Center tour gives the history of the building built in 1998, and gives groups a chance to sit in the main seating bowl, visit the athletic department luxury suite, see the beautiful Dale Chihuly blown glass sculpture, and tour the basketball and men’s hockey office suite on the second floor. Groups also visit the Nicholas-Johnson practice pavilion and enjoy many of the display cases throughout the Kohl Center concourses.
