WOMEN'S GOLF
This Week: Wisconsin will make just its second trip to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship May 21-24 when it competes on the University of Georgia Course in Athens. It is the first time since 2003 for a Badger team to appear in the 72-hole championship.

Last Week: UW was the 20th seed in the 24-team NCAA Central Regional held May 9-11 at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla. UW climbed from 12th after 36-holes to seventh with a 19-over par 292-303-288=883 to claim one of the eight qualifying bids.  Wisconsin junior Kris Yoo had a bogey-free, 7-under par 65 the final round to set a school and course record and give UW the boost. Yoo finished tied for 11th with 1-over par 72-80-65=217.

Good to Know: The Badgers were mentioned in the Golfweek Regional Recap on May 13, and Wisconsin was named Golfweek's Team of the Week for becoming the lowest-seeded team to qualify for the national tournament.

Three Badgers boast three top-five seeds for the meet, with sophomore Alex Hatz (1500 meters), Maverick Darling (5000 meters) and Danny Block (discus) each seeded No. 3 in their respective events.

Last Week: After claiming a third-place finish at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships -- held May 10-12 -- the Badgers were idle last week in preparation for the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
