SOFTBALL (38-9, 15-5)
This Week: Wisconsin wraps up the regular season with a three-game series against Michigan State this weekend at Goodman Diamond. First pitch on Friday is at 6 p.m. and all of the action will air live on BTN. Saturday and Sunday's games start at 1 p.m.

Last Week: The Badgers posted a 5-0 record in league play, sweeping Northwestern at home and defeating Indiana on the road. The Badgers set school records for wins (38) and Big Ten road wins (10) in the process.    

Need to Know: Mary Massei, Whitney Massey and Shannel Blackshear continue to wreak havoc on the record book. Massei has recorded a school-record number of hits (69), runs (41) and total bases (108) this season, while Massey has tied the single-season home run record (11) and is one RBI away from the tying the mark of 41 set by Molly Spence in 2010. Blackshear's 30 career home runs ties a program best and owns the RBI record with 135. 

Good to Know: Friday's game airs live on BTN, while Saturday and Sunday's action will stream on BTN.com. UWBadgers.com will host a live Gameday Blog and live stats, while WSUM will broadcast all three games live at WSUM.org.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
This Week: The Badgers get one final tune-up for the Big Ten outdoor championships when they host the Wisconsin Open this weekend at the McClimon Complex. The meet begins at 3:45 p.m. Friday with a special invitational section of the discus and the hammer throw competition. On Saturday, field events begin at noon, with action on the track starting at 1:50 p.m. UW's senior class will be honored beginning at 1:30 p.m.  

Last Week: The Badgers headed west for a busy week of competition, headlined by Big Ten-leading marks for Alex Hatz (3:39.87) in the 1500 meters and Maverick Darling (13:30.40) in the 5000 meters at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational and for Japheth Cato in the pole vault (17-5 3/4) at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational.   

Need to Know: Darling's effort in the 5000 meters at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on Sunday ranks him atop the Big Ten and No. 4 in the NCAA and made him the third-fastest at 5000 meters in UW history.

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
This Week: UW's final event before the Big Ten outdoor championships comes at home, as the Badgers play host to the Wisconsin Open this Friday and Saturday at the McClimon Complex. Last Week: A school-record effort by senior Taylor Smith at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif., highlighted a busy week for the Badgers. Smith threw 56 feet, 11 1/2 inches to smash her own UW all-time best in the shot put and put her atop the Big Ten standings in the event.    

Need to Know: In addition to her standing in the shot put, Smith also ranks No. 4 in the Big Ten in the discus with a season-best throw of 177-5.

MEN'S ROWING
This Week: The men's rowing team heads to Boston this weekend for races against MIT and Boston University on Saturday.

Last Week: The Badgers split up last weekend, sending three boats to the Stanford Invitational, April 20-21, while hosting Minnesota and MSOE on Lake Mendota, April 21. Wisconsin raced against Cal, Oregon State and Stanford, claiming wins over the Cardinal in the second varsity and novice eights. In Madison against Minnesota and MSOE, Wisconsin won five of the six races and placed ten of 13 boats in the top two.

Need to Know: The races against Boston University will be for the Jablonic Cup. Awarded since 1989 and named after former Wisconsin head coach Randy Jablonic, Wisconsin has claimed the cup seven-straight years and 20 times since 1989.

WOMEN'S ROWING
This Week: The women's rowing team hosts its lone regatta on Lake Mendota of the season, welcoming Minnesota and Michigan State on Sunday.

Last Week: The Badgers traveled to defending national champion Virginia on Saturday, April 27. Wisconsin lost the first and second varsity eight races to the Cavaliers, but won the varsity four. The Badgers also raced against Duke, sweeping the Blue Devils in all three of the races.

Need to Know: This Sunday's regatta will be the last chance for the Badgers to race before heading off to the Big Ten Championships on May 19.

WOMEN'S LIGHTWEIGHT ROWING
This Week: The women's lightweight rowing team heads to Cherry Hill, N.J., for the EAWRC Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 5.

Last Week: The Badgers last competed on April 13-14 in the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, winning the lightweight eight and novice eight races. Wisconsin had originally planned to compete in the Boston Round Robin, April 20-21, but the trip was canceled. 

Need to Know: After the Eastern Sprints, the Badgers will have the rest of May to finalize training before the IRA Championships, May 30-June 1.

MEN'S SOCCER
This Week: The men's soccer team completes its spring schedule, hosting its annual alumni game on Friday at the U-Bay practice fields.

Last Week: The Badgers completed the collegiate portion of the spring season with a 3-0 win over UIC in Chicago on April 27.

Need to Know: Wisconsin shutout each college during the spring schedule, posting a 4-0-2 record in those six games.
