Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department annually funds the scholarships and facility needs of the nearly 800 student-athletes in 23 sports. Since the department is a self-sustaining entity, the generosity of individuals who annually contribute to Wisconsin Athletics is essential to remain competitive both within the Big Ten Conference and nationally.
Donors that contribute to Wisconsin Athletics make an impact in the lives of hundreds of Badger student-athletes by providing opportunities for them to achieve success in the classroom, on the fields of play, and in the community.
In the coming days, the many donors, ticket holders, letter winners, alumni, friends, and fans of Badger Athletics will receive a 2010 Giving Opportunities brochure. Information in the brochure outlines the various ways that individuals can contribute to Wisconsin Athletics as well as details of the outstanding benefits associated with being a donor.
"Contributions from loyal donors make a remarkable difference on the success of our programs. Whether a gift is made to the annual fund, through the purchase of a suite or club seat, by establishing an endowment, or in support of a facility project, each gift makes an impact on Badger Athletics and is truly appreciated." said Marija Pientka, Associate Athletic Director for Development.
In addition to impacting the lives of student-athletes representing the University of Wisconsin, donors to UW Athletics are provided with an array of benefits including priority for requesting season and single game tickets, invitations to exclusive events featuring Badger coaches such as the Party in the Paint, as well as priority for securing tee times at University Ridge. UW Athletics encourages all donors to make their gifts by April 30, 2010 to ensure priority for all benefits offered this year.
