Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department is a financially self-sustaining entity that annually funds the scholarships and facility needs of the nearly 800 student-athletes in 23 sports.
The generosity of individuals who annually contribute to Wisconsin Athletics is critical to remain competitive both within the Big Ten Conference and nationally. Donors to Wisconsin Athletics provide Badger student-athletes the opportunity to achieve success in the classroom, in competition, and in the community.
In the coming days, the many donors, ticket holders, letter winners, alumni, friends, and fans of Wisconsin Athletics will receive a 2011 Giving Opportunities guide, which provides information on the various ways to contribute to Wisconsin Athletics as well as details of the outstanding benefits associated with being a donor.
“We are thankful for the generous support provided each year from loyal donors to UW Athletics. Whether a gift is made to the annual fund, through the purchase of a suite or club seat, by establishing an endowment, or in support of a facility project, each gift makes a difference and contributes to the overall success of our programs.” said Marija Pientka, Associate Athletic Director for Development.
In addition to impacting the lives of student-athletes representing the University of Wisconsin, donors to UW Athletics are provided with various benefits including priority for requesting season and single game tickets and invitations to exclusive events featuring Badger coaches such as the Athletic Luncheon Series. UW Athletics encourages all donors to make their gifts by April 30, 2011, to ensure opportunity for all benefits offered this year.
