MADISON, Wis. -- The monthly UW Athletic Department Athletic Luncheon Series continued today featuring men's basketball coach Bo Ryan and Rick Boyages, Associate Commissioner/ Director of men's basketball for the Big Ten Conference.

Donors in attendance had the opportunity to ask Ryan and Boyages questions and watch a video from the "Wish Upon a Badger" series featuring the UW men's basketball program.

Ryan answered questions about his coaching experiences and spoke about his goal to develop players during their time at Wisconsin. "As coaches, we teach the game with the idea of players improving every year. Jordan Taylor is a good example of a senior who has been in the system and has worked hard to improve," Ryan said.

Boyages described his role with the Big Ten Conference including his oversight of men's basketball officials. As an 18-year college basketball coaching veteran, Boyages has unique insight from serving as both a coach and now as an administrator. "Officials are counted on for their judgment, the knowledge of the rules is assumed," Boyages said regarding how officials are evaluated.

In addition to making a remarkable difference in the lives of Badger student-athletes, donors to Wisconsin Athletics are offered unique benefit opportunities, including invitations to special events like the Athletic Luncheon Series.
