Madison, Wis. - Enjoy a wonder sampling of Wisconsin sports when 11 of UW's 23 men's and women's sports compete at home this weekend Jan. 21-24.

To promote this unusual circumstance, a TWITTER contest has been launched. Use the TWITTER hashmark #BadgerWknd to Tweet from events during the four-day weekend and be eligible to win great prizes.

The marathon of events starts Thursday with women's basketball (15-4 overall, 5-3 Big Ten) looking to make it five in a row as they host Penn State (13-4, 5-2) at the Kohl Center. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. The Lady Lions are a game ahead of the Badgers in the Big Ten standings.

Friday and Saturday the men’s and women’s hockey teams are in action at the Kohl Center. The Wisconsin women’s hockey team (13-8-3, 10-7-1 WCHA) returns home after two weeks on the road to host St. Cloud State (9-10-5, 6-9-3 WCHA) Friday and Saturday. The Badgers enter the series in a tie for third place in league standings against Bemidji State.

The men's hockey team (13-6-3, 9-5-2 WCHA) plays its first home WCHA games since Dec. 4-5 when it plays host to No. 1 Denver (14-5-3, 10-3-3 WCHA) on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The Badgers are 8-2-2 at the Kohl Center this season. UW leads the all-time series with Denver 71-55-9, including a 33-29-5 mark in Madison.
Also Friday, the No. 14 Wisconsin wrestling team (4-6) opens its Big Ten season with a bout against 12th-ranked Indiana (11-0) at the UW Field House. The match will air live on the Big Ten Network at 7 p.m. The Badgers currently hold a six-match winning streak against IU, dating back to 2003.

Saturday there are some FREE events with both men's and women's tennis competing at Nielsen Tennis Stadium, and men's and women's track competing at the Shell. The men's and women's swimming teams are competing at the Natatorium.

The Wisconsin men's and women's swimming and diving teams return home to the UW Natatorium this weekend to host in-state rival Green Bay in their final non-conference dual meet at 2 p.m. Saturday. It will be the Badgers' first home competition in nearly three months, and their first dual-meet action since the women scored a 180-63 win and the men suffered a 139-103 loss against Hawaii on Jan. 9.

The No. 24-ranked Wisconsin men’s track and field team hosts its second-straight home event on Saturday with the Badger Track Classic. The one-day meet begins with field events at 11 a.m., but fans are encouraged to attend the two-hour session of running event finals that begins at 1:15 p.m. The women’s team is also competing in the second of three-consecutive home meets this weekend starting at 1:15 p.m. at the Shell. Admission is free.

The Wisconsin men’s tennis team will open its spring 2010 season Saturday with three dual matches at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
