Men's Basketball (11-4, 2-0 Big Ten)
This Week: The Badgers (11-4) return to the Kohl Center on Saturday as they welcome the Illinois Fighting Illini. Tip-off is slated for 1:15 p.m.

Last Week: Wisconsin opened Big Ten play with a pair of wins, outlasting Penn State, 60-51, at home before handing Nebraska a 47-41 loss at its home.

Need to Know: Following his three-block performance against Nebraska, senior Jared Berggren moved into a tie with Kurt Portman for fourth in Wisconsin history. Berggren now has 102 career swats and is leading the Big Ten with 2.1 per game.

Women's Basketball (8-7, 0-2 Big Ten)
This Week: Wisconsin (8-7, 0-2) looks for its first Big Ten Conference win when it hosts Iowa at the Kohl Center at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Badgers wrap up the week with a trip to Michigan on Sunday for a 1 p.m. tip off. 

Last Week: The Badgers opened league action with a pair of losses, falling on the road at Nebraska, 70-52, and dropping a home contest to Minnesota, 60-55.

Need to Know:  The Badgers need only one more win to equal their victory total from last year. UW was 9-20 in coach Bobbie Kelsey’s first season, including a 4-9 mark in the non-conference season. This year, Wisconsin posted an 8-5 mark in non-conference play its best start since 2009-10 when the team was 11-2 through 13 games. 

Good to Know: Both games this week will air live on the Big Ten Network. Thursday’s game will be broadcast on 1310 WIBA-AM and Sunday’s game can be heard on 92.1 WXXM-FM. Both games will feature a live Gameday Blog available on UWBadgers.com.

MEN'S HOCKEY (6-7-5, 4-5-5 WCHA)
This Week: The Badgers (6-7-5, 4-5-5 WCHA) travel to Mankato, Minn., this weekend for a road duel with Minnesota State. UW will face-off with the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday before ending the trip with a 7 p.m. face-off on Saturday.

Last Week: Wisconsin swept Alaska-Anchorage this past week, scoring a combined six goals, while allowing just three scores.

Need to Know: Wisconsin is in the midst of an eight-game unbeaten streak, dating back to mid-December.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY (12-6-2, 8-6-2-2 WCHA)
This Week:  After nearly a month without a regular-season game, the women’s hockey team returns to host Ohio State at LaBahn Arena on Friday and Saturday. Both games are set to begin at 7 p.m.

Last Week: The Badgers took to the ice on Jan. 4 for an exhibition against the Minnesota Whitecaps, posting a 4-0 win. Prior to the exhibition, Wisconsin extended its undefeated streak against North Dakota, sweeping UND at LaBahn Arena over the Dec. 8-9 weekend. The Badgers scored three unanswered goals on Dec. 8, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2. In game two, the Badgers scored three goals in the second period to claim a 3-1 victory for the sweep.

Need to Know:  The Badgers currently own a nine-game home undefeated streak, having only lost the Oct. 19 game to Bemidji State at LaBahn Arena.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
This Week: Wisconsin opens the 2013 indoor campaign at home by playing host to the annual Badger Track Classic inside the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center (The Shell) on Saturday. Field events are slated to begin at noon, with action on the track getting underway at 1 p.m. An exhibition-only discus event will be held in the adjacent McClain Center at 5 p.m. Friday.

Need to Know: There will be no team scoring in the Badgers’ opener, which features Wisconsin going head to head with DePaul, Marquette, Milwaukee and UW-Whitewater.

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
This Week: The Badgers get the 2013 indoor season underway Saturday by hosting the annual  Badger Track Classic inside the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center (The Shell). Field events begin at noon, with races on the track set to start at 1 p.m. An exhibition discus event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday inside the adjacent McClain Center.

Need to Know: Team scores will not be kept in UW’s season-opening meet, which features the Badgers going up against DePaul, Marquette, Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater and Winona State.

WRESTLING (5-2, 2-0 Big Ten)
This Week: The No. 23 Badgers return to Big Ten Conference action on Sunday when they host No. 12 Michigan at 1 p.m. at the UW Field House.

Last Week: Wisconsin wrapped up a 12th place team finish at the Midlands Championships on Sunday, Dec. 31, fueled by a pair of third place finishes by Tyler Graff (113 lbs.) and Connor Medbery (Hwt.). Wrestling unattached, Isaac Jordan also finished third at 157 lbs.

Need to Know: After posting a record of 11-2 at 141 lbs., junior Tyler Graff moved down a weight class to 133 lbs. for the Midlands Championships. Graff posted a 6-1 record at the championships and finished third, earning him a No. 3 ranking in the Jan. 1 InterMat rankings. 

Good to Know: Sunday’s dual will be streamed live on InsideBadgersSports.com and an live Gameday Blog will be available at UWBadgers.com. The dual is also youth and high school day. Teams can receive free admission to the dual with advanced registration.

MEN'S SWIM & DIVE
This Week: Wisconsin hits the road to take on USC this weekend.

Last Week: The Badgers spent their Christmas vacation training in Hawai’i where they participated in a non-scored invitational that included Boise State and USC, among others.

Need to Know: Senior Michael Weiss traveled overseas, representing Team USA at the 2012 FINA Short Course World Championships. Weiss finished seventh in the 400-meter individual medley event and anchored the eventual gold-medal winning 800-meter relay squad in the preliminary race.

WOMEN'S SWIM & DIVE
This Week: Wisconsin hits the road to take on USC this weekend.

Last Week: The Badgers spent their Christmas vacation training in Hawai’i where they participated in a non-scored invitational that included Boise State and USC, among others.

Need to Know: Following a stellar December, sophomore Ivy Martin earned Wisconsin’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Martin has achieved five NCAA cuts this season and began the year with the nation’s fastest time in the 50 free.
