The Wisconsin Spirit Squad will play host to the 2010 Wisconsin's Finest Dance event Sunday, Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the UW Field House. College teams and high school squads from around the state will perform jazz, high kick, pom and hip hop routines as they prepare for state and national competitions.
The event is open to the public with the doors opening at 1 p.m. Admission is $7 and fans are asked to enter through Gate C of the UW Field House (corner of Regent St. and Breese Terrace). Parking is available on a first come first serve basis, with nearby street parking available as well.
The Wisconsin Dance Team will head to the Universal Dance Association (UDA) College National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Fla., from Jan. 15-17. Last year, the dance team placed fifth in the jazz division and fourth in the hip hop division. The team is currently ranked fourth in the nation. Click here to see this year's national demo.
Bucky Badger will make a special appearance as he prepares for the UCA College Mascot National Championship in Orlando, Fla. After the qualifying round, Bucky is currently ranked eighth in the nation. Click here to see Bucky's national tryout routine from this season.
College teams on hand include UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Green Bay. High school teams performing include Franklin, Greendale, Notre Dame Academy, Verona and West Allis Nathan Hale.
