The University of Wisconsin men's and women's swimming and diving
teams enjoy the convenience of having two first-class facilities
for practice and competition, the Natatorium (2000 Observatory Drive;
Phone: 608/262-3742) and Southeast Recreational Facility, or SERF
(715 W. Dayton St.; Phone: 608/262-8245).
In the heart of campus along the shores of beautiful Lake Mendota,
the "Nat" features an eight-lane, 25-yard pool that is equipped
with a Colorado Timing System and eight-lane digital readout score
board. The Badger divers consider the Nat home, and have the use
of a separate 50' x 40' diving well that is fitted with three one-meter
and two three-meter boards, as well as a five-meter platform. On
deck is a dryland board and trampoline with spotting rigs. In addition,
the Badgers have the use of a newly-built five-meter platform.
On the southeast side of campus is the SERF, which houses a beautiful
eight-lane, 50-meter course, as well as two three-meter and two
one-meter diving boards. The facility is equipped with movable bulkheads
that can be used to create two eight-lane, 25-yard or 25-meter courses.
Together, these facilities offer everything needed for the Badger
swimmers and divers to strive for improvement on the national and
international levels.
