2011 Wrestling Summer Camps

BADGER WRESTLING CAMPS

TEAM CAMP
TUESDAY JULY 5 ~ FRIDAY JULY 8

Team Camp will consist of 70% team dual meets and 30% daily technical instruction. Each team will be assigned a college wrestler as their head coach to help evaluate and mentor the high school team. Some new additions to the Team Camp will be implemented this year. There will be two strength sessions conducted by the University of Wisconsin wrestling team’s strength and conditioning coach. The Iron Man competition format will be changed with teams battling head-to-head. This is a great team building camp that allows coaches to work closely with the entire UW Wrestling team and staff. This camp will give a fair evaluation of where your team is at during the summer months.

SKILLS CAMP
FRIDAY JULY 8 ~ SUNDAY JULY 10

The Skills Camp is designed to teach fundamentals and drills of the sport of wrestling. The camp will consist of 80% high end skill instruction focusing on proper technique that is valuable at every level of wrestling. The other 20% will allow the athletes to test their newly learned skills in live combat situations. This is a great developmental camp for serious wrestlers in grades 4-12. Our counselors will break down and evaluate each camper. All athletes will leave camp with a better understanding of the sport of wrestling. They will be reminded of what areas they need to concentrate on to become the best they can be.

BADGER BEAST CAMP
SUNDAY JULY 10 ~ FRIDAY JULY 15

Badger Beast Camp is designed for the serious wrestler that wants to be challenged to become a State Champion. During this camp every area of wrestling will be covered through controlled drilling sessions and controlled live wrestling sessions. UW Wrestling Coaches will emphasize mental discipline and toughness during drilling and wrestling sessions. Each camper will receive individual personalized time and attention from a UW Coach to help them refine their skills. The UW Strength and Conditioning Coach will conduct sessions emphasizing explosive lifting techniques that are specific to the sport of wrestling. Overall this is a great camp for any wrestler who is looking for an edge next wrestling season.
