Former Badger Scott Lorenz has successfully made the step to the next level after completing his soccer career with Wisconsin, earning a place on the NSC Minnesota Stars, a professional soccer team competing in the 12-team USSF Division 2 Pro League in 2010.
Now, the first round of the NCAA tournament will be held at 32 on-campus sites and the following week, the second round will be held at 16 on-campus sites.
The man between the benches -- at the scorer's table -- will be the same, however. And, interestingly enough, he has a pretty impressive coaching resume of his own.
Yeagley was announced Thursday as a coach for the upcoming 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine, which is set for Jan. 8-12 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He will lead Team F50i along with Larry Sunderland, Director of Player Personnel for the MLS' Chicago Fire.
Thursday's match in Bloomington will mark the 39th renewal of Wisconsin's series with Indiana, the Badgers' most-played rivalry. Add in the Indiana ties of UW head coach Todd Yeagley and assistants Ernie Yarborough and Chris Munroe, and there are plenty of storylines in the Badgers' matchup with Hoosiers.
