Packer's Perspective: Back to battle the Buckeyes

Hey Badger Fans!

After a long break of time off, and a great couple weeks of practice, the Badgers are back. It's that time again, the team has landed in Columbus and we are geared up for what is set to be a great series against a gritty Buckeye team.

We landed in Ohio at about 3 p.m. and made our way to the hotel. After a little down time, we headed over to the rink to get a practice in and adjust to the dimensions of the rink that is much small than we are accustomed to. Practice was quick and simple, keeping the drills to a minimum and just trying to get our legs moving a bit. After practice we headed back to the hotel for a meal prepared for us by the hotel restaurant.

The team is taking advantage of the down time to relax and get some work done, knowing that the next couple of days are going to be important and focus will be a huge factor. These two games on the road are important for us in terms of standings, and could be the difference maker at the end of the year. The team knows that we have to play six solid periods of hockey and that winning the little battles will be important.

The last time we faced off with the Buckeyes it was a close battle and was gritty up to the final buzzer, and we know they will come prepared to defend their home ice, so we have to give it everything we can start to finish. The team is focusing on playing together and doing the little things to take care of the puck and be strong on our sticks in front of the net to come away with a few points this weekend.

The puck drops at 6 p.m. (CT) tomorrow, tune in to cheer us on as we look to get a few wins in the seniors last trip to Columbus! Until next time thanks for reading, and On Wisconsin!
