Here is Wisconsin's injury report for the remainder of the season. The Badgers will only have nine healthy players the rest of the way. Senior Taylor Wurtz has elected to take a medical redshirt for the rest of the 2012-13 season. The 6-0 guard has been bothered by a re-occurring back problem and had surgery Jan. 3. Sophomore AnnMarie Brown had surgery Jan. 4 for a torn ACL suffered in practice Dec. 18. She is out for the season as well.

UW lost Tiera Stephen 10 minutes into the Ohio State game and finished the double overtime loss with just six players. She returned for limited minutes in last Sunday's win over Indiana.

The Badgers (11-13 overall, 3-8 Big Ten) are counting down the regular season with only five games remaining. Wisconsin wraps up its two-game home stand by hosting No. 18 Purdue (18-5, 7-3) on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Kohl Center. There is only one more home game after tonight when UW hosts Nebraska Thursday, Feb. 28.

Paige is UW's leading scorer averaging 17.2 points per game which ranks sixth in the conference. She also leads the team in minutes played avearging 36.6 minutes per game.

Sophomore Jacki Gulczynski had an impressive week of play, averaging 23.5 points and 10 rebounds per game over two games. She shot 50 percent from the field (19-of-38) while adding 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.5 blocks per game. She set a school record for minutes played when she never sat down in the double overtime at Ohio State playing all 50 minutes.

Wisconsin got back in the win column last Sunday with a much-needed 65-53 win over Indiana at the Kohl Center. With only three fouls called on the Badgers vs. Indiana, Wisconsin set a school record for fewest fouls in a game.

For the stats watchers on the blog, with four blocks against Indiana on Sunday, junior Cassie Rochel moved into a tie for sixth on the UW season record list with 52 blocks.

Senior Tiera Stephen needs just one assist to move into the top 10 on the UW season record list. The 5-7 point guard has 123 dimes this season. This is just her third season at UW.

UW should make a fitness tape after the season they have had. Wisconsin has to be one of the fittest teams in the country with all five starters averaging more than 31 minutes per game. In Big Ten play, all five starters average more than 34 minutes per game.

In Big Ten games, Jacki Gulczynski leads the league with 40.4 minutes per game. Morgan Paige averages 38.3 minutes per game to rank sixth.

The Big Ten Tournament is coming up March 7-10 at a new location. It will be held at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates north of Chicago for the first time after years at Conseco FIeldhouse in Indianapolis. Winning that tournament will of course guarantee UW an NCAA bid.

However, even without the tourney title, Wisconsin can still compete in the 2013 post-season but needs to win four of its remaining five regular-season games. Four wins would give the Badgers a 15-14 mark heading into the Big Ten Tournament. In order to compete in the NCAA tournament, participating teams must be above .500 for winning percentage while teams in the WNIT must be .500 or better.
