Wisconsin has been up and down this season as its schedule reads W-L-W-L-W-L. The Badgers have still improved this season as they were 2-4 at this point last year.

The Badgers are struggling with their shooting this season, hitting just 37.9 percent (134-of-354) of their shots, which ranks 12th in the Big Ten. UW is also 12th in scoring offense, averaging 57.5 points per game.

There have been some individual highlights. Junior Morgan Paige went 18-of-18 from the free throw line over a four-game stretch before missing her second free throw at Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The 5-9 guard leads the team with a .889 (24-27) free throw percentage, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten.

Senior Taylor Wurtz needs just five points for 1,000 in her career. She will become the 22nd Badger to score 1,000 points. Wurtz did not play at Virginia Tech on Wednesday due to a lingering back problem and is probably not going to play today.

UW is coming off a loss in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge scoring its lowest number of points this year with the 47-38 loss at Virginia Tech. Wisconsin shot just 30 percent (15-of-50) from the field.

The Badgers are struggling from 3-point range this season, shooting just 20.9 percent (23-of-110) from behind the arc. Wisconsin ranks 12th in the Big Ten in 3-point percentage and 10th in 3-pointers made with 3.8 per game.
Ironically, last year's Badger team was the best 3-point shooting team in UW history. Wisconsin set overall and Big Ten-season records for 3-pointers made, shooting 181-of-535 from deep last season, averaging 6.2 makes per game.

With Wurtz out, freshman Nicole Bauman earned her first start of her career at Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The 5-10 guard played a career-high 27 minutes, scoring seven points. She also added one rebound, one assist and one steal.
On the season, Bauman has played in all six games, averaging 21 minutes per game. She averages 3.7 point, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

Sophomore Jacki Gulczynski tied her career high with eight points at Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The 6-1 forward made a career best four field goals, shooting 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from the field. She also tied her season best with five rebounds.
Gulczynski has started all six games this season and is averaging 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. She shoots 40.6 percent from the field while adding 1.3 assists per game.

Senior Tiera Stephen ranks third in the Big Ten with 3.3 steals per game. The 5-7 guard has had at least four steals in three games this season, including a career-best eight takeaways against Milwaukee on Nov. 11.
Stephen also dishes off a team-best 4.5 assists per game, which ranks sixth in the Big Ten. She had a UW-best seven assists vs. Evansville on Nov. 25. She also dished off six dimes at Gonzaga and vs. Washington.

Sophomore AnnMarie Brown continues her strong play off the bench, ranking third on the team with 7.7 points per game. She also shares the team lead with 7.0 rebounds per game, which ties for 10th with senior Taylor Wurtz in the Big Ten. 
The 6-0 guard/forward recorded her first career double-double with career highs of 11 points and 10 rebounds against Milwaukee on Nov. 11. Brown tied her career best with 11 points against Washington on Nov. 21.
Brown has pulled down five-or-more rebounds in all six games this season, leading the team in two games. She has also scored five-or-more points in all six games.
