The Badgers have won back-to-back games for the first time this season and have won three of their last five games. UW picked up its first Big Ten home win of the season on Jan. 22 with a 75-55 victory over Northwestern. The Badgers surprised the Gophers in Williams Arena and led for over 37 minutes before winning 78-72.

In its last two games, UW has scored back-to-back season-high points. The Badgers put up 75 points against Northwestern on Jan. 22 and upped that to 78 points at Minnesota on Thursday. Wisconsin is averaging 76.5 points per game its last two games, up from its season average of 58.8 points per game.

After losing three starters and 61 percent of its scoring from last season, it's no wonder Wisconsin has three of the most improved scorers in the Big Ten this season. Based on scoring averages from 2010-11, junior Taylor Wurtz (+7.2 ppg/5th most improved), sophomore Morgan Paige (+6.2/7th) and senior Anya Covington (+5.4/9th) rank among the most improved players in the conference this season.

According to Jeff Sagarin's Ratings, Wisconsin's schedule is the 10th hardest in the nation and the second toughest in the Big Ten, trailing only Illinois, which is ranked fourth.

The Badgers have had balanced scoring their last four games with four players in double figures vs. Nebraska on Jan. 12, three players in doubles at Iowa on Jan. 19, three with double digits vs. Northwestern on Jan. 22, and three in double figures at Minnesota on Thursday. Wisconsin has had three-or-more players in double figures in 11 games this year.
Taylor Wurtz, Anya Covington and Morgan Paige have scored in double figures all four games while Jade Davis completed the quartet against Nebraska.

Part of the reason for success the last few games is an improved shooting percentage, especially from beyond the arc. In its last four games, UW is shooting 44.9 percent (39-of-85) from 3-point range while opponents are shooting just 27.5 percent (19-of-69). The Badgers average 9.75 treys made per game over the stretch.

The Badgers especially like to shoot 3-pointers in the Kohl Center. Wisconsin tied a school and Kohl Center record against Northwestern Jan. 22 by making 11 3-pointers. The Badgers were 11-of-27 from deep for 40.7 percent. UW also made 11 3-pointers against Oral Roberts on Nov. 13.
Sophomore Morgan Paige set a Kohl Center record by making six 3-pointers. The previous mark was five treys set by six other Badgers, most recently by Taylor Wurtz against Michigan on Jan. 10, 2010.

The Badgers have had three players with 20-or-more points in games this season. Junior Taylor Wurtz had three 20-plus games, including 26 vs. Montana State at the Colorado Classic on Nov. 25, to up her career total to four games. She also had 20 points vs. Green Bay on Dec. 23 and 20 points against Nebraska on Jan. 12.
Sophomore Morgan Paige had a career high of 20 points at Iowa on Jan. 29 and followed that up with 20 points against Northwestern.
Senior Anya Covington scored a career-high 23 points against the Wildcats, her first 20-plus career performance.
In addition, a total of six players have had 10-or-points in at least one game.

The Hawkeyes are coming off a huge upset of previously undefeated in conference play Purdue, 59-42. They are tied for seventh and a game ahead of the Badgers in the standings with a 4-5 conference mark. UW lost to the Hawks in Iowa City Jan. 19, 69-57.
