After a season of shooting woes, UW improved its performance in its last two games. UW shot 47.5 percent (19-of-40) from 3-point range while opponents shot just 27.8 percent (10-of-36). The Badgers averaged 9.5 treys made per game.

In its last three games, UW is averaging 9.7 steals per game. The Badgers had a season-high 11 steals at Iowa on Thursday, scoring 22 points off Hawkeye turnovers in the losing effort (69-57).

The Badgers had four players score in double figures vs. Nebraska on Jan. 12 and three players score in doubles at Iowa led by a career-high by 20 points by Morgan Paige. Wisconsin has had three-or-more players in double digits in nine games this season.

The Badgers have been led in scoring all season by Taylor Wurtz with 13.8 points per game. She is the only double-figure scorer for Wisconsin. Wurtz needs just three 3-pointers to move into ninth on the UW career list. The 6-0 guard is 127-of-350 (.363) from 3-point range for her career.

In the last game at Iowa City Thursday, Wisconsin led by one at the half and was tied with Iowa at 47-47 with 10:52 to play but the Hawkeyes went on a 16-0 run, holding the Badgers scoreless for five minutes to put the game away. Iowa won 69-57, outrebounding the Badgers 41-19.

Northwestern has won two of its last three games, but is coming off a loss at home to Michigan Thursday, 58-48. NU won a close one with Illinois, 59-58. The Badgers were three point winners over the Illini. NU is led by 6-2 junior Kendall Hackney with 16.2 points per game.

Northwestern is coming off a 19-14 season and went to the WNIT last year. They graduated their All-Big Ten center, Amy Jaschke, but have found a suitable replacement in 6-5 Dannielle Diamant. The junior is third on the team in scoring with 12.6 points per game, and she contributes 5.8 rebounder per game.

Overall, Northwestern is one of the taller teams UW will face with all five starters 5-10 or better. That could present some matchup problems for the Badgers who have smaller posts in Anya Covington and Ashley Thomas bot at 6-2. Cassie Rochel's 6-4 frame may be called upon more today.
