Tam Flarup chronicled all the action from today's between the Badgers (4-7) and Drake University (4-4) with the live Gameday Blog. The Bulldogs beat the Badgers 65-54 at the Kohl Center in the last game before finals.

The team will be involved with school Dec. 17-23, and will return to action the evening of the 23rd for a game with Green Bay that evening at 7:30 p.m. The Phoenix are ranked 21st in the nation and sport an undefeated record so far this year at 8-0.

Green Bay will be the third Division I women's team in the state that UW has faced. Wisconsin won at UW-Milwaukee 68-51 in the season opener and later lost by two points at Marquette, 54-52.

One thing to watch today is junior Taylor Wurtz's 3-point makes. She needs just three treys to move into 10th on the UW all-time list for 3-pointers made. Wurtz currently has 113 3-pointers. Karie Cattanach (1993-97) currently ranks 10th with 116 3 pointers made.

As many of you may know, the Badgers struggled with turnovers early this season, averaging 22. 7 TOs per game through the first three games. In the last five contests, the Badgers are averaging 16.3 turnovers per game. Wisconsin had a season-low 12 turnovers against Saint Louis last Monday.

Rachel Hackbarth is leading the Bulldogs in points (18.6) and rebounds (10.0), while remaining extremely effi cient from the field, shooting 51.6 percent. The 6-3 senior forward is a native of Colgate, Wis., and forms a strong front court duo with junior Stephanie Running. Running, a 6-2 forward/center, is shooting 51.1 percent from the field and averaging 7.7 points per game. A native of Oak Creek, Wis., Running is averaging 28.0 minutes per game.

It was announced today that the women's game Vs. Penn State on Monday, Jan. 2 will be at 12 p.m. The Badger football team plays in the Rose Bowl starting at 4 p.m. CT. So fans will be able to have a full day of sports by first attending the noon women's game, and then heading to their nearest big screen TV for the Rose Bowl where UW faces Pac-12 champion Oregon.

It starts with taking care of the ball for coach Bobbie Kelsey. Beyond that she tells her players to look for their shots first, look for the pass next, and then dribble. So putting it in the basket is critical. She is also a rebounding coach, and has been disappointed in their board efforts the past couple of games after being so good early in the year. So those are the keys.
