Wisconsin sophomore Monica Lam-Feist (Surrey, British Columbia) and former Badger Amy Vermeulen (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), who finished her career in 2005, competed for the United Soccer League's W-League title on Saturday in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Representing the Vancouver Whitecaps in the W-League, the Canadian duo helped guide the squad to the championship game against the Buffalo Flash. Although Vermeulen notched a goal for Vancouver in the second half, the Whitecaps fell to Buffalo 3-1 in the league's final test.

Vancouver completed the season with an 8-1-4 overall record.

Lam-Feist will return to the Badgers for her second year after receiving Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolades twice and Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors during her rookie season.

Among many other achievements, during her stint at Wisconsin from 2001-2005, Vermeulen served as the team captain (2005) and received second team All-Big Ten honors and first team All-Big Ten honors in 2005 and 2004, respectively.
