After an impressive run for the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) National title, the FC Milwaukee Nationals fell 2-1 to the Boston Aztec Breakers Reserves in the WPSL National Semifinal game in Richardson, Texas, on Saturday and Tied the Oklahoma Alliance FC on Sunday.

In its first season with the WPSL, the Nationals boast Wisconsin junior Laurie Nosbusch and sophomores Alyssa Vogel, Lindsey Johnson and Joana Bielefeld. Despite falling to Boston Aztec, Nosbusch, who captains the Nationals, scored the team's lone goal to make the score 2-1 and prevent a shutout.

Nosbusch and UW-Milwaukee's Sarah Hagen buoyed the team offensively, combining for 14 goals during regular season play. The duo scored the first two goals in the third place game against the Oklahoma Alliance FC on Sunday, however, Oklahoma answered with two consecutive goals to end the game in a 2-2 draw.

The Midwest champions finished the season with a 9-2-2 overall record.

Also serving as co-captain of the 2010-11 Wisconsin women's soccer squad, Nosbusch was named to the WPSL's 2010 All-Midwest Conference Team last week.
