Evans helps Americans stay perfect

Evans_Ryan_Blog_100820.jpgRyan Evans' teammates on the Wisconsin men's basketball team are hoping the sophomore's winning ways carry over to the Badgers' upcoming season.

Evans completed a five-game tour of Europe with the Global Sports Academy Team on Thursday with a perfect 5-0 record.

After scoring wins over two Belgian teams to kick things off, Evans' crew beat the Grevenbroich squad in Germany, 99-80, on Wednesday. Evans had 13 points in the win.

They then made the trip to Dusseldorf, and the American team downed Herten on Thursday in an 81-79 win that included eight points from Evans.

From there, it was back to Belgium and a matchup with the Gembo team on Friday. The Americans closed out their trip in convincing fashion with a 113-72, with Evans chipping in 11 points.

Over the five-game trip, Evans averaged 9.2 points per game. He and his teammates, all college players, were scheduled to return to the U.S. on Friday.

The squad was coached by Illinois assistant coach Jay Price. Updates - including some great photos - are available on his Twitter page: @CoachJayPrice.
