Coach Lisa Stone traveled with her fellow coaches and staff to the Badger Days event in Milwaukee on June 8. Coach Stone took a couple minutes from her busy schedule to write a Blog on her experience, including a 3-2 win by the Brewers over the Cubs.
Hello Badger Fans!
Badger Days are so much fun! It's a great day for building staff camaraderie and networking with our fellow coaches and Badger fans. Only for Badger Days do we get all the head coaches on a bus and travel to different parts of the state to thank our awesome Badger fans for all of their support.
Last night's event was at the Brewer game. The fans came out to Badger Days even though the weather was cold and rainy but thanks to the efforts of our awesome staff the show went on without a hitch.
The experience on the field for the first pitch thrown by Blake Geoffrion, UW's first Hobey Baker winner, was awesome. His pitch was a bit high but he got it there!
Then came the game against the Cubs. The Brewers came through in the bottom of the ninth with a single by Casey McGehee to score two runs and give the Brewers a 3-2 win. McGehee's single came with two outs and a full count. It was a very exciting game! I even had my rally cap on to cheer on the Brewers in that exciting ninth inning.
It was another great Badger Days and the third one in a week. I love hanging out with my fellow coaches! They are some of the neatest people I have ever met. I am truly blessed to be a Badger! Our Badger family is very special and we have the best fans in America so thank you for all you do.
