Looking at this weekend's lineups

With just two weeks remaining before the Big Ten outdoor championships, it's another busy weekend of competition for the Badger women.

The bulk of UW's distance crew is off to the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, while the rest of the Badgers make the shorter trip to Iowa City, Iowa, for the Musco Twilight Invitational.

Here's a look at who is heading where this weekend...

Amanda Donath, whose outstanding anchor carry helped the Badgers run the third-fastest sprint medley relay time in school history (3:56.16) at the Drake Relays, will compete in the 800 meters at Stanford this weekend.

Redshirt freshman Megan Beers will represent the Badgers in a 1,500 meters field that includes NCAA champions Jenny Barringer and Hannah England, as well as three-time Olympian Jen Rhines.

Junior Karen Greuel and sophomore Karlye Wolff are scheduled to compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The duo finished 19th and 20th at the Mt. SAC Relays just over two weeks ago.

Redshirt freshman Caitilin Comfort, who was runner-up in her section of the 5,000 meters at Mt. SAC, will compete in an extremely talented field this weekend. Her section includes Drake Relays steeplechase champion Shayla Houlihan, while another section features a number of elite athletes that includes American record-holder Shalane Flanagan, Sara Hall and Shannon Rowbury.

Junior Alyssa Beste and freshman Kiah Ehrke also will race in the 5,000.

Freshman Jameice DeCoster is slated to run in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, while senior Alexis Beecham is entered in the 200 and 400 meters.

DeCoster ran on the Badgers' 4x400-meter relay team that clocked UW's best time since 1992 (3:44.53) and the sprint medley relay squad that ran the No. 3 time in school history (3:56.16) at the Drake Relays. Beecham also was on the sprint medley team that took 10th place.

Redshirt freshman Brittney Harper and junior Carli Ditscheit will compete in the 800 meters, with freshmen Ashley Beutler and Katie McCormack and sophomore Kate Sanft all entered in the 1,500 meters.

The foursome of junior Alexa Renstrom, freshman Beth Hartig, sophomore Emily Perina and junior Lindsey Kong are set for the 3,000 meters.

Freshman Carrie Edmunds, a winner in the event at Whitewater last weekend, will run the 400-meter hurdles.

In the field, senior Amanda Hoeppner will look for another big performance after her lifetime-best and team-leading mark of 49-9 1/4 at last weekend's meet in Whitewater. Freshman teammates Jasmine Boyer and Taylor Smith also will compete in the shot.

In addition, Smith and sophomore Sunni Massop are slated to compete in a special invitational section of the discus. Boyer and senior Samantha Dehn will compete in another section of the event.

Boyer, Hoeppner, Smith and sophomor Rebecca Fritz also are entered in the hammer throw, while sophomore Megan Rennhack will compete in the javelin.
