Keep on climbing: Badgers up to No. 11 in AP poll

There was nowhere to go but up for Wisconsin after a pair of wins last week over Michigan State and Michigan, and that's exactly the direction the Badgers headed in this week's rankings.

UW (18-5) moved up three spots Monday to No. 13 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and jumped five places to No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25.

In the AP poll, the Badgers matched No. 18 Butler (previously No. 23) and No. 19 Northern Iowa (previously No. 24) for the biggest jump of the week by sliding up five slots.

The ranking is Wisconsin's highest since finishing the 2007-08 season at No. 6.

The Big Ten features four ranked teams this week, with No. 6 Purdue (19-3) and No. 10 Michigan State (19-5) ahead of the Badgers, and No. 13 Ohio State (18-6) just behind.

Wisconsin split its season series with each of those those teams.

In the coaches poll, Purdue checks in at No. 6 and Michigan State is No. 10, while Ohio State trails the Badgers at No. 16.

Kansas (22-1) is the top-ranked team in both polls this week.
