Yeagley to coach at MLS Combine

Men's soccer head coach Todd Yeagley has picked up some extra work for the offseason.

Yeagley was announced Thursday as a coach for the upcoming 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine, which is set for Jan. 8-12 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He will lead Team F50i along with Larry Sunderland, Director of Player Personnel for the MLS' Chicago Fire.

The MLS combine serves as an audition for scouts and personnel from all 16 MLS clubs and concludes just two days before the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, which is set for Jan. 14 in Philadelphia. Last year, 42 of the 60 players drafted attended the 2009 combine.

An initial list of 62 seniors from NCAA Division I schools who will take part in this year's combine also was released Thursday, although no UW players made the first cut. More players will be added in the coming weeks, however.

Once the list of participants is finalized, the group will be split between four teams that will each face off once over the course of the three-day competition portion of the combine. Yeagley's Team F50i will play in the second game each day.

Check out more details on the combine on the MLS' official Web site.
