Working on Christmas

And people think that Walgreen's is the only place open for business on Christmas Day. Both the Badgers and the Hurricanes will take to the practice field in rainy Orlando today in preparation for Tuesday's Champs Sports Bowl. It's supposed to rain on and off today so we'll see if that affects practice at all. But UW will get a little holiday cheer in before putting on the pads.

From 9-10 a.m. there will be a holiday brunch for coaches and support staff and their families. Rumor has it the big guy (Santa Claus, not John Moffitt) will be making an appearance. The players will then have brunch from 10-11 a.m. Be sure to look for our special holiday video from the players later today.

The team will then have some meetings before departing for practice at 12:45 p.m. An 18-period practice starts at 1:45 p.m. Since Saturday=Tuesday, the Badgers will be in full pads and offensive players and coaches will meet with the media after practice. We will have complete coverage of practice, along with player interviews, later in the day.

After practice, two busses will take players to either Disney World or Universal Islands of Adventure. UWBadgers.com correspondents will accompany the players on one of those excursions and have a complete report. Be sure to watch highlights from yesterday's trip to Universal Studios, featuring Dan Moore, Jay Valai, O'Brien Schofield and Jaevery McFadden.

The players are on their own again tonight with a 10 a.m. wake-up call scheduled for Saturday.
