Wisconsin Athletics consistently strives to improve the gameday experience for its passionate fans and guests. As the start to the 2013 football season approaches, the UW Athletic Department is pleased to announce several changes and improvements, many made based on customer feedback, that visitors to Camp Randall Stadium can expect to see this season.

  1. New Sound System
The state of the art audio system at Camp Randall is configured of 478 individual speaker drivers covering the entire bowl seating area via four JBL VLA line arrays. Complimenting this is four Danley TH-812 sub woofers with a jaw dropping 128,000 watts of power. The entire system deploys 93 QSC amplifiers with a combined output of 447,400 watts of power controlled by QSC Q-SYS. What does all this mean? This massive upgrade will not only fire the crowd up, but the players as well. Under balcony seats also received a healthy upgrade, doubling the amount of speakers for improved clarity and coverage.
  2. New Videoboards
Fans will enjoy brand new videoboards in Camp Randall Stadium, highlighted by the new north end videoboard. The north end videoboard itself measures 101 feet wide and 42 feet tall. The old videoboard was approximately 43 feet wide and 23 feet tall. At just over 4,281 square feet, this is roughly the size of the Kohl Center basketball floor. At 2352 pixels wide by 980 pixels tall, images will be projected across a total of 2,304,960 pixels.
  3. Captioning
Fans requiring additional assistance to enjoy the game will be able to better experience the game with closed captioning services. The closed captioning feed will be located in the stadium on the new main videoboard as well as part of the free Gameday App. Wisconsin is just the third school in the Big Ten to offer this service and the first to provide it through a mobile app.
  4. Concessionaire
Learfield Levy Foodservice will serve as the new restaurant partner for Camp Randall Stadium as well as other university athletic facilities. The selection was made with a vision for enhancing the fan experience and will bring Levy's award-winning approach to dining and hospitality to the university.
  5. New Beverage Options
Wisconsin Athletics is pleased to welcome the Dr. Pepper Snapple group and Badger Max to its facilities starting this fall. Fans will enjoy smooth refreshing beverage options including Dr. Pepper, A&W Root Beer, 7-UP and Snapple. Also available will be BadgerMax sports drink and water, the official isotonic beverage and water of the Badgers.
  6. Camp Randall Goes Smoke Free
Badger fans will enjoy a completely smoke-free experience starting in 2013. All previous smoking locations within the gates of Camp Randall Stadium have been eliminated. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within Camp Randall Stadium.
  7. Camp Randall Terrace
Debuting this season, an outdoor viewing area will open above the north endzone stands. This area will provide a unique viewing experience with the comforts of premium seat options including food and beverage service.
  8. Guest Greeters
A Badger celebrity will be on hand at selected gates to greet fans as they enter Camp Randall Stadium at all home games this season. This program will provide the opportunity for fans to interact with some of Wisconsin’s biggest names while we thank them for their support.
  9. Badgerville
The popular Badgerville event, the official pre-game tailgate party of Wisconsin Athletics, moves to Engineering Mall. The free pre-game event starts 2.5 hours before game time and features food, beer and beverages, live entertainment, a performance by the UW Band, Bucky Badger and more. Get ready for the game with plenty of space to spread out with your friends and family.
  10. Section Reserved For Students
UW student season ticket holders will notice they will no longer be assigned a specific row and seat. To simplify the seating process, students will simply receive a ticket indicating a section. Students will be required to sit in the section noted on their ticket.
  11. On, Wisconsin!
At the conclusion of the game the Badger football team will sing ‘On, Wisconsin!’ with the UW Band and the fans to salute the great support Badger faithful have for Wisconsin football.
  12. Bike Valet Program
No longer will fans have to sit in traffic or look for parking near Camp Randall Stadium. Now in its third year, the Bike Valet Program is available on the Missing Link Bike Path behind the UW Credit Union on Monroe Street for all Badger home football games. It is open two hours before kickoff and an hour after the conclusion of the game. Bicyclists simply ride up to the valet, receive a claim ticket, and leave their bike in good hands with valet supervisors.
  13. Cabs
Fans traveling to and from the game via taxi will no longer have to hail their own cabs. A new cab stand will be located on the north side of Monroe Street near the fire station after all home games.
